ABC bookfair is a terrific way to draw children and their families into the exciting world of great literature while raising money or earning books for your school. Because we order from over 200 publishers, we carry the widest and most diverse selection of children’s books anywhere. Your fair will reflect that.
ABC is a local, family owned business that has been serving the reading needs of northern Illinois for over 130 years. We know what your students want.
When we have the opportunity to place authors (hundreds per year), we place many of them in our bookfair schools, free of charge. We also provide you with guidance on how to book your own nationally known author.
ABC accepts requests for particular subjects, titles, and authors as well as takes into account past sales, school demographics, and previously successful categories and titles. Every fair is a customized fair.
If you choose to take your bookfair profit in books, you’ll be able to choose from over 6,000 titles in stock at our warehouse, rather than a limited selection of titles.
Your bookfair chair and co-chair receive a $10 gift certificate and 25% off at our warehouse during the entire school year for their personal purchases.
ABC offers a full line of services to compliment your bookfair-required reading, summer reading (all paperback fair), Birthday Book Club books, Battle of the Books books, religious books, autographed books by well know authors, books for author appearances, and dual language and foreign language books.
All checks are made payable to ABC, so we handle the processing of all checks.
ABC is flexible with regard to extra orders and restocks during your fair.
We offer your chair and/or librarian the opportunity to attend one of our bookfair seminars. At the seminar, they will be taught how to hand sell books and get the right books into the hands of your students. Booktalks, demonstrations, displays, raffles, and lots of fun promotional items are also included at the seminars.
