IRC Reading Lists

For many years we have based a large part of our success on selling books to educators. We have a large and varied inventory, including more than 20,000 children's titles. Our knowledgeable staff is available to help with the selection of books to use in your school's curriculum. And we are always happy to assist you in choosing books to fit into thematic units. We can arrange speakers for in-service or school presentations and provide semi-annual in-store presentations of the newest books. We also will arrange in-store bookfairs for fund-raising for your school.

We know that your budget--whether it's your own or your school's--doesn't go as far as it used to, so all educators receive a 20% discount off the list price for books to be used in the classroom or library. Also, if you're purchasing multiple copies of a single title for classroom sets, we offer a larger discount as shown below*. To provide the larger discount, however, we must have time to order the books from the publisher rather than a distributor. This normally takes from four to six weeks so be sure to contact us early. (Please contact us regarding multiple copy discounts.)

*Some exceptions apply

Disclaimer: We have no control over the prices that the publishers charge us. Occasionally, a price quoted will not be the same as the price of the book when it arrives. Just give us a call if you have any questions. The people you should know here at Anderson's include:

Jan Dundon: Children's Coordinator
Barb Fessler: School Account Representative, Naperville
Kathleen March: Children's Activity Coordinator, Downers Grove

Along with everyone who has turned to Anderson's Bookshops over the years, we would like to thank Creative Classroom Magazine, which listed us as one of the top two sources in the country for children's books. We are also very proud that we just won the Pannell Award for the best children's department in a general bookstore.
