Christopher Paul Curtis made an impressive children’s literature debut with The Watsons Go to Birmingham-1963. His second novel, Bud, Not Buddy, is the first book ever to receive both the Newbery Medal and the Coretta Scott King Author Award. Newly released is Elijah of Buxton. In his early working life, Mr. Curtis installed car doors at the Flint, MI Fisher Body Plant.

Sonya Sones took an early love of drawing dinosaurs to Harvard and Hollywood! But her creative juices eventually led Ms. Sones to become an author for teens.
