Anderson's Mock Award Programs
What is it?
Each year we curate a list of the 25 books we consider to be top candidates for the Newbery, Printz, and Sibert awards. We use our knowledge of the books and that of all the many educators, publishers, authors, and reviewers to develop our annual list.
Why do we do it?
Our mock award programs are a great way for schools to get the year’s best books for their students. The program encourages critical thinking and the sharing of stories. Selected titles are given thorough consideration; they are the books we deem to be the year’s best and worthy of recognition for their respective award.
How can I participate?
Purchase a set (or partial set of 15) to participate in voting and encourage your students to read them! We are happy to share ideas on how you might use these books with your students. Your school will even receive a book talk with the purchase of a complete set! Special discounts apply, please contact us for more details.
How does the voting work?
After students read as many titles from the list as possible, they will submit their votes for their top five books. Voting forms will be available in January after the holiday break. Our winners will be announced before the actual award announcements in early February. Check our site for more details!
