This is an adventure explorer night with a real adventure explorer! Meet author Trudi Trueit, with her new title, Explorer Academy: The Falcon's Feather - the exciting follow-up to The Nebula Secret. PLUS meet real life ocean explorer Erika Bergman. National Geographic partners with this book series to bring middle graders into the thrilling world of contemporary explorers!
Calling all explorers! Join National Geographic Kids Books for an exciting presentation where thrilling fiction meets real-life adventure!
Explorer Academy author Trudi Trueit is teaming up with National Geographic Explorer and underwater deep-sea navigator Erika Bergman to take you into the action-packed world of Explorer Academy and behind the adventures of Explorer Academy’s Cruz Coronado, inspired by the real-life experiences of Nat Geo explorers like Bergman.
Accomplished author Trudi Trueit will reveal her sources of inspiration and path towards writing the Explorer Academy series, how she deftly weaves fiction with real-life science, how she creates the world of Cruz, Lani, Emmett, and Sailor, and where their adventures take them in The Falcon’s Feather. Just like the perils that Cruz faces in The Falcon’s Feather, as he travels to the frigid North Atlantic to continue his studies, National Geographic Explorer Erika Bergman will share her underwater adventures as a ground-breaking scientist, submersible pilot, and steamship engineer.
Steeped in fact and real-world investigation, much of the science included in the Explorer Academy series is based upon the research and experiences of National Geographic’s leading scientists, photographers and explorers, focusing on geography, STEM, history, space, and exploration.
