Children will not be allowed to attend Camp unless payment has been received and recorded by our accounting department.

Anderson’s Bookshop may, at their discretion, adjust the fees applicable to this program at any time. I understand that I will be given at least a 30-day notification prior to any such change.

It is my understanding that if I wish to terminate this registration, for any reason, I must give Anderson’s Bookshop a 10-day written notice in advance of my camp session. If proper notice is not received, Anderson's Bookshop will retain $50 per camp session cancelled regardless of whether my child attends summer day camp.

A $15.00/half hr. fee will be charged for late pick up. Camp ends at 3:00 p.m. please pick up your child on time.

-I understand that I am not to leave my child at Camp before 8:45 a.m. and only if there is a camp staff member present.

-I understand that my child will not be allowed to leave the program with an unauthorized person or staff. Only adults can be authorized to pick up the child. Staff will require a valid photo i.d. Pickup authorization forms are available on the first day of camp, during check-in. Additionally, you may email us a list of people authorized to pick up your child anytime before camp starts.

-I understand that Anderson’s Bookshop is mandated by Illinois law to report any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect.

-I understand that I will be charged a late fee if I fail to pick my child up on time.

-I understand that Anderson’s Bookshop staff may not baby-sit, transport or care for children other than during Camp Divergent hours.

-I understand that my child may be removed from camp for any of the following reasons:

1) Failure to pay program fees by designated deadlines.

2) Inappropriate behavior of a child/parent that endangers anyone involved with Divergent Camp staff.

3) Failure to observe any of the behavioral conduct guidelines set forth in the behavioral guidelines.

-I authorize my child(ren) to participate in the following activities while enrolled at Camp Divergent.

-View a G/PG/PG13 rated film (this almost never happens)

-Participate in camp activities – including field trips.

-Participate in photos or videos for Anderson’s Bookshop and Anderson’s Bookshop publications.

If your child requires assistance or is prone to outbursts or erratic behavior your presence will be required at camp while your child is in attendance. Persistent behavioral problems may result in suspension or removal from the camp program indefinitely, at the program director’s discretion.

Our intent is that all children have a very positive experience at camp. Clear rules and limits for the campers will be set on the first day of camp. Campers are expected to be courteous and friendly to all campers and staff. Improper language, name-calling, fighting, stealing, or disrespect to others will not be tolerated. Counselors will make every effort to encourage positive behavior and redirect negative behavior. However, if poor behavior persists the following will apply:

1st violation: A staff member will address and document the issue directly with the child. The child may be removed from an activity.

2nd violation: A staff member will address and document the issue directly with the child The parent or caregiver will be notified of their child’s actions. The parent, staff member and camper will decide on a course of action.

3rd violation: A staff member will address and document the issue directly with the child. Parents will be contacted by Anderson’s Bookshop staff to pick up their child from camp.

NOTE: Anderson’s Bookshop reserves the right to remove a camper from a camp session or program for improper behavior without a refund.

I understand and acknowledge that Anderson’s Bookshop does not offer any medical insurance to protect against injuries, makes no claims to do so, and has no responsibility for any medical expenses incurred. I understand that each participant must assume the risk and any related financial responsibility that could result from participation in any of these activities. I agree to assume such risks and such financial responsibility.

DRESS: Dress your children in clothes appropriate for outdoor weather and activities. They will be doing crafts and playing games. Sneakers or closed toe shoes are recommended. Sunglasses and hats can be worn to help prevent sunburn.

SUNSCREEN AND BUG SPRAY: Camp activities will take place both inside (air conditioned) and outside. Apply sunscreen and/or insect repellent at home. If you would like your child to re-apply sunscreen or insect repellent, you will need to instruct him/her about application and provide the product. We are not able to apply product for them.

LUNCH: Send a good lunch with a water bottle or other drink (or two). Remember that on warm days your child will be thirstier than on cool days. Children can refill their water bottle throughout the day.
