Work at Anderson's
We are now hiring for the following positions!
Publicity and Events Coordinator
Anderson’s Bookshop is looking for a part-time Publicity and Events Coordinator to join our team! This flexible position is part of our dynamic and creative Marketing and Events team and will be responsible for event logistics, media relations, and community fundraisers.
Anderson’s has a long, storied history of hosting some of the greatest authors of the last several decades, and we need a Coordinator to be a part of continuing that legacy. Once an event is confirmed, you’ll be responsible for planning and sharing the logistics with our publisher partners, authors, booksellers, and customers. You’ll also write regular press releases and work with the media to spread the word about what we are doing. You will host some of the author events and meet our visiting authors! We’re looking for 3 – 4 days a week with flexible hours, making this a perfect position for someone with kids in school, and while this job won’t make you rich, putting books into the hands of readers and helping people meet their heroes is incredibly fulfilling.
- Incredible organization and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- People skills - you’ll be working with many different people who all need something right away, so flexibility and a sense of humor are essential
- Public speaking skills
- Ability and pleasure in juggling multiple projects at once
Additionally, this job also requires the ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and to lift 25+ pounds, as books are heavy, and proof of a COVID vaccination.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment, love to read, and can keep it together in front of your favorite author, we want to hear from you!
Anderson’s Bookshop has been selling books since 1875, and we are proud to be the oldest single-family-run bookseller in the country. Our commitment to books and authors, as well as a devotion to customer service, has sustained us for six generations and resulted in dozens of awards, thousands of author events, and millions of books connected to happy readers.
To apply, please send your resume, a short statement describing your reason for applying, and a link to a 3 - 5 minute video of yourself talking about your favorite book of the last three years to email@example.com. We can’t wait to hear from you!
