Anderson's Bookshop Naperville is looking for enthusiastic book lovers, retail experience preferred. Need flexibility in scheduling to include working events in-store and offsite. Regular schedule is mainly weekends and evenings. Should be able to multitask when busy, or be a self-starter during quieter times. Excellent customer service skills a MUST.

MARKETING DESIGNER, ANDERSON'S BOOKSHOP NAPERVILLE

Calling all creative book lovers! Anderson’s Bookshops is seeking a Marketing Designer to join our marketing team.  This is a part-time position based in our Naperville location, approximately 30 hours a week.  Days and times are flexible.

Our marketing team is looking to add a friendly, imaginative, and flexible designer to our team!  We love books and want to share them with our customers in fun and creative ways.  We’re looking for an independent, small-business-focused person with marketing, design, and project management experience.  If you are a whiz with Adobe Creative Cloud and are looking for something part-time with great perks, we’d love to talk to you!

Responsibilities include:

  • Graphic design of all materials for our stores and book fair company, including print, website and digital collateral
  • Collaboration with our publicity team, management team, and booksellers to create and implement promotions and strategies that help share books and authors and why we love them
  • Management and maintenance of three websites, including all digital graphic design
  • Print management
  • Maintain online presence including Google business pages, Yelp, and social media as needed
  • Analysis of online traffic, sales, and social media data as needed

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • 3+ years of experience with CMS-based websites (we use Drupal 7) and Wix.com
  • Project management experience
  • Print production and file management experience
  • Foundational understanding of Google Analytics, HTML and CSS
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact and Dreamweaver a plus
  • Familiarity with using FTPs

CHILDREN'S COORDINATOR, ANDERSON'S BOOKSHOP LA GRANGE 

Attention children’s book lovers!  If you are passionate about children’s literature, have a strong knowledge of content for all age groups, and love to work with people, then we have a job for you!

Anderson’s Bookshop in La Grange is looking for a part-time Children’s Coordinator (30 hours a week) to be the face and voice of our children’s department to our customers and local schools. Our children’s coordinator will support, contribute and build off of Anderson’s reputation as a leader in the children’s literature world.

Qualified candidates must possess a passion for and basic working knowledge of children’s literature, should be energetic, detail oriented, able to multi-task, and comfortable owning relationships with our educational partners. We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills, relationship management experience, shows initiative, and also works well with teams. Exemplary customer service skills are a must. A strong candidate will possess concise communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently in public.

Some of the job responsibilities include:

  • Outreach to our local schools and educators, including book talks, teacher open houses, and relationship management.
  • Plan, promote, and host children’s programming for the store, including author appearances and story times
  • Maintain the inventory of the department, including creating unique displays
  • Work with the Children’s team at the other stores, the owners, the store managers, and the marketing department to ensure a positive customer experience and smooth communication

Calling all toy lovers! Anderson's Toyshop in Naperville is seeking a hardworking, outgoing toy enthusiast to join the Anderson's team!

  • Operate cash register
  • Shelve product
  • Have a positive attitude towards learning new toys and games
  • Serve as a resource in helping customers match toys to appropriate age levels
  • Gift wrap customer purchases
